Hey y'all,
We are almost there! The LinkedIn Challenge is in the final stretch. Thank you for all your help! Keep up the amazing work! This week's challenge: Challenge #6! Do you want everyone to know that you can use the entire Adobe Creative Suite or Microsoft Excel? Endorse a friend for a skill or two and increase your likelihood of receiving an endorsement back! Earn 3 points by commenting on this post once you’ve sent 3 endorsements for a skill. NOTE: All challenges are ongoing so continue to add points for people taking a picture of dropping off LinkedIn summaries. I will continue to manage everything through LinkedIn, but if someone comes into the office please add their points immediately. Thank you :)

This weeks challenge:
It is pretty impressive to have valuable work experience listed on your LinkedIn profile, but what is even more impressive is having a well-written account of what you brought to the table at the position. Request a recommendation or two from an employer or professional contact, comment on this post once you’ve sent it and earn 5 points! Also...if people stop by to take a picture or drop off their LinkedIn summary ADD THEIR POINTS right away! Do not wait for Bridget or Kelly to review it. If you have any questions email or text me anytime. Thanks :) Tonya Challenge #4 is out! Woohoo! Here is this week's challenge: Your professional summary on LinkedIn is one of the first things a potential employer’s eyes are drawn to and it may be the only thing they read! Update your summary, can be written in first or third person, and bring it in to the CDC during Quick Counsel from 12-1pm on Fridays to be reviewed (or schedule an appointment) and earn 5 points! Be sure to tell the CDC Specialists to add your points to the challenge. A few reminders:
Also...we are at week 4 out of 7..."ohhhh, ohhh we're half way there....." Challenge #3 of LinkedIn Challenge will be released Monday and you might get some visitors in the CDC. The challenge is as follows: A quality photo can take you a long way! Upload a professional photo or drop by the CDC with your camera/camera phone and get a professional photo taken for your LinkedIn Profile. Earn 5 points! If you already have a great professional photo, comment on this post and we’ll give you your points! This challenge can be completed during any of the following weeks of the challenge. If students do some in, make sure to get their name and email address and add them to the Google Drive sheet "LinkedIn Challenge Fall 2014." Don't wait or hesitate, do it right away! Also, if they do come in, it is your job to take their professional photo. Take it again a clean background (the hallway might be the best option) and take a head shot, so shoulders and above. Here are a few examples...look familiar (also shameless plug to connect with each other on LinkedIn because we all work in a professional environment together) I appreciate everyone's help through the LinkedIn challenge and if you have any questions please feel free to reach out to me!
Thank you, Tonya Hello specialists!
The LinkedIn Challenge has commenced...may the odds be ever in your favor! (because who doesn't love a good Hunger Games reference). This week's challenge (challenge #2): Find the new & redesigned site within the LinkedIn website just for college students and comment the link to this post. The first student gets 5 points and every student afterwards gets 3. I will keep track of points for on "on-LinkedIn" challenges. But coming up NEXT WEEK...students may be coming into the office asking you to take a professional picture for them. If they do this...make sure to get their name and add them to the points sheet on the Google Drive. But no worries because that's a week away and you'll be hearing from me before then! Also, if you have friends (which I know y'all do because you're cool people), tell them about the challenge. It's a great opportunity for them strengthen their profile and it will help them network, find internships...and even jobs! Woah...and they will have YOU to thank! Peace, love & hugs Tonya |
