CDCers,
Pretty soon you're going to come in for your shift and I won't be here and then you won't see me for about a month or so. It's OK. I'm just on maternity leave. When this happens, most likely unexpectedly, Bridget will be taking over and as most of you know... She's a bit tougher than me. :) Her biggest pet peeve is tardiness, especially with timesheets. The Tuesday night deadline will still be enforced; however Bridget may not be so kind with "Wednesday afternoon timesheets," so for this week let's have all seven of you send them in ON TIME. As some of you may have found out, we have quizzes for CDCNews. This is also a new weekly task that Bridget is going to carry on for me. All last week I watched students come in with questions about T. Howard, seminar locations and internship opportunity questions. Almost all of you fumbled through CDCNews to help answer their questions. You all initial CDCNews, leading me to believe that you read through it all and understand the information presented. Apparently, that's not the case. CDCNews is put out by this office, meaning, the CDC staff should be well acquainted with the information. I do not expect you guys to be able to resit CDCNews like a script, but when a student comes in looking for what room the Job Hunt Marathon is in... Come on. We need to step it up. If you guys do not want to take quizzes, I can give you a few suggestions to make them go away: 1.) Don't cheat when you are taking them. 2.) Read CDCNews, either at home or on your shift. 3.) Be able to assist students when they ask the easy questions, like where is this info session being held? 4.) Only initial CDCNews when you feel confident enough to help students with questions and pass the quiz. With that being said, CDCNews is a weekly newsletter. You're not going to get out of taking the quiz by putting the reading off. I promise. So for the remainder of this week let's focus on our shift duties and special projects. Don't cut corners during your shift and always ask if you are unsure. Some things to note in preperat: Bridget's cell: 315-664-3110 Bridget's office: 315-443-1913 - Brittany
