Hope everyone had a nice warm weekend. I will be out of the office Monday and Tuesday this week. See you soon! -Judith HighlightsSeminars Monday-Interview Preparation Tuesday-Basic Cover Letter Writing Friday-Job Hunt Marathon Kelly is doing Quick Counsel this week! Internship Database Update I met with IT last week to discuss the features we would like to add to make our internship database more user friendly for us and students. Our dream database is doable (yay!), but will require much time and testing. I will be meeting with B + K this week to discuss our options. Details to come. Updated Work Schedule See our updated work schedule here. Thank you Valerie and Jeff for stepping up to fill open shifts! Hire Me CDC A new website is in the works to help students learn more about the CDC Specialist position and to apply online. It will be packed with videos and photos to showcase why the CDC is a great place to work. Shy, Mary and I are currently developing the content, web design and marketing plan for Hire Me CDC. We plan to launch the test site by the end of Feb and officially launching the site in early March. If you're interested in being a part of this new initiative, shoot me an email [email protected] to share your thoughts and ideas. Also... Everyone is doing a great job with the Hello CDC Scavenger Hunt! We'll take a break from it this week to focus more on creating internship profiles (we're currently at 35....ahhh!). When you create a new profile, please remember to transfer the original email to the "Entered Internship" folder. Compliments"Great job with this website Judith! It keeps me informed each week and is really well designed!" - Jeff "Judith is awesome because she always goes out of her way to compliment you on a job well done, something she's proud of you for, or just to be kind. She is also awesome because she's the greatest birthday girl ever! Happy celebrations Judith!"- Mary "I think that the website is organized very well and is easily navigable. Great job in designing it, Judith!"-Shy Thanks for the love everyone! I do this for you so let me know if there's anything else you'd like to see on the site that would help you. - Judith Give someone a compliment today here to be featured next week on The Blog! Common Question"What happened to our appointment request clipboard?"
When I realized that several students required follow up, I decided to improve our appointment request system. I would like you to do the following when students are unable to schedule an appointment for the current or following week: -Offer our drop box service and recommend Quick Counsel if it applies (ex. résumé and cover letter reviews) If students have an urgent matter (ex. my application is due next week), please email them our "Your Appointment Request" email. This template can be found in the "Generic Answers" folder in the "Seminars/Appointments" subfolder in Outlook. Remember to copy and paste the template to a new email to keep the template in the folder. A big thanks to Shy for creating this template! :) -------------------------- Hello, Thank you for stopping by to request an appointment with a counselor.
